FAQs
Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions
Arrival
Where can we park?
There is on-street parking for several cars right outside of the cottage. We cannot guarantee that a spot will always be available, however, you can pull up right outside of the cottage for loading and unloading. Other parking can be found at the top of East Bank or on the main road. There are designated car parks too, both at the top of the village and at the bottom – there is a map in the guests’ information folder at the cottage. All parking in the village is free.
What is the arrival time for the cottage?
Arrivals after 3 pm please. If you require an earlier arrival time, please do ask us – we will do our best to accommodate you.
Whilst you are here
Does the cottage have a garden and is it secure?
The cottage has a small courtyard garden (no grassed area) that contains a small table and four chairs. The entrance is by gate which is secure for pets.
Where in the building is the bathroom?
The bathroom is on the first floor. There is no ground floor toilet
What do we need to bring?
Bring your clothes and some food. Everything else is at the cottage
Buying groceries
There is a great village shop just a very short distance from the cottage. You can get all of the basic supplies here including fresh bread and cakes. For a larger grocery shop, there is a Sainsburys in Matlock (Cawdor Way, DE4 3SP) and a Co-op in Bakewell (Market Street, DE45 1DS). Most of the online grocery suppliers will also deliver to Winster.
